Selena Gomez quits Hillsong following pastor Carl Lentz’s affair


 Selena Gomez has reportedly quit Hillsong following pastor Carl Lentz’s cheating scandal.

The Daily Telegraph first revealed that the singer, 28, has turned her back on the church after being an avid follower for years.

Sources claim she has become “bitterly disillusioned” with the church since her break up with ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber, who is closely associated with it.

It was Carl Lentz’s affair that was reportedly the final straw for Gomez.

“At one stage she adored Carl ... she, Brian, his daughter Laura and Justin were a team, really close. Now she doesn’t want anything to do with Hillsong anymore,” an insider told The Daily Telegraph.

“She doesn’t identify with Hillsong any longer.”

Mr Lentz, 42, was kicked out of the popular church last month after a number of “moral failures”, that were later revealed as him cheating on his wife.

He and his wife Laura, who have been married for 17 years and share three children, moved from the east coast of the US to Los Angeles late last month in an attempt to salvage their marriage.

Akufo-Addo sworn in as Ghana’s President for second term.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been sworn into office for a second four-year term as President of the Republic of Ghana. The Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin Yeboah conducted the swearing-in, taking him through the required oaths . Taking the presidential oath of office and oath of allegiance, Nana Akufo Addo said: “I will be faithful and true to the Republic of Ghana. I will at all times preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of Ghana.” Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has also been sworn in as Vice President of Ghana for a second term.

Director of research at the Presidency, Victor Newman dead

A founding member of New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the current Director of Research at the Presidency, Victor Newman, has died after a short illness. A source close to the family said he died today (10 December) at the Legon Hospital in Accra after a short illness. Victor Newman was appointed as the director of research at the Presidency in 2017. Prior to his appointment, he worked at the Economic Research and Planning Services of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Western Castings Limited, and the Ghana Exim Economic Consultants.
