GHAMRO Ban To Stop Radio, TV Stations From Playing Music


The Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO), a collective society, has revealed plans of stopping radio and television stations in the country from using music to promote their activities.

The society said radio and television stations are supposed to obtain license from the society before using music on their networks.

It said most of the stations are currently using music without license or approval from the society. 

“GHAMRO is an organisation registered under the laws of Ghana and further authorised by law to basically license, collect and distribute royalties for and on behalf of musicians/authors, composers and producers/publishers of musical works,” it said.

I’ve Been Vindicated – Tracey Boakye Reacts To Kennedy Agyapong’s Confession

Controversial Kumawood actress, Tracey Boakye has reacted to  Kennedy Agyapong’s comments that he was joking that the actress and Former President John Mahama were lovers. Few weeks ago, the MP for Assin Central had made a claim that the former President bought a mansion worth over $450,000 for Tracey Boakye to which she flatly denied. However speaking in a latest interview, Kennedy Agyapong who seemed to have had a change of heart reiterated that his comments about Tracey Boakye and Former President Mahama were nothing but jokes. ”Whatever happens to a man, I don’t feel happy about it. Like I was in Akyiase, and I was joking about Mahama, and Tracey Boakye and Tracey Boakye took it so seriously and all that.” he had stated. Reacting to this in an interview with GhPage’s Abena Gold, Tracey stated that she has finally been vindicated and happy about the fact that the former President’s name has been cleared.
