Death of Rawlings: Nana Konadu to announce withdrawal of candidacy




Wife of former President Jerry John Rawlings will hold a press conference on Monday November 23 withdrawing her candidacy from the December 7 Presidential election.

Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings, who doubles as the founder and presidential aspirant of the National Democratic Party, will also in the briefing state the way forward for the party.

Since the death of President Rawlings, there have been several calls appealing to the former First Lady to drop her Presidential ambitions. Nana Konadu, fell out with her husband’s party the National Democratic Congress (NDC), over a decade ago, to form the National Democratic Party (NDP).

The late President died on November 12, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital after a short illness.
