Chief Imam deserves Nobel Peace Prize - Kufour

Former President John Agyekum Kufour, has made a strong case for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharabutu to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

The National Chief Imam, who has over the years been a symbol of peace has built bridges between the country's many faiths and supported development programmes that sensitize people to their social responsibilities.

The only Ghanaian to have won the Nobel Peace is former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, who in 2001, won a joint award with the United Nations (UN).

At over 100 years, Sheikh Sharabutu continues to perform his duties diligently. This among things has convinced President Kufour to make the clarion call for the Chief Imam to be awarded.
